On February 21-22, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized the second session of the workshop on “Reading Literacy: Reading, Thinking, and Analyzing according to the PISA Framework using the PTRU Model” at the Pairoj Duangwiset Meeting Room (68-302), Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University. Distinguished speakers included Assistant Professor Watit Thamcheua, Assistant Professor Nidarin Julawan, Lecturer Tatchayotsapol Thanathuwanan, and Lecturer Kaninwarathun Chairob. Teachers from model schools in Songkhla province participated in the workshop. The objective was to develop teachers knowledge and skills in using PISA-based reading literacy assessment tools, applying the PTRU Model. The workshop aimed to build knowledge, understanding, and preparedness in Reading Literacy for teachers from the Songkhla Rajabhat University Demonstration School and other model schools. It also focused on creating a collaborative network to develop model schools and improve student quality, enabling them to read, think, analyze, and apply knowledge effectively in various situations. This will lead to the sustainable development of educational quality in the future.

A meeting was held with the chairpersons of all Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programs to receive policy guidelines on student admissions from the university.

On February 23, 2026, Songkhla Rajabhat University held a meeting of the chairpersons of all Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programs to receive policy guidelines on student admissions from the university. Associate Professor Dr. Veerachai Saengchai, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research, presided over the meeting and provided guidelines for undergraduate student admissions for the academic year. The meeting took place in the Soi Raya Meeting Room (68-606), Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University. Administrators and relevant personnel attended, including the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Vice Deans, Assistant Deans, chairpersons of all undergraduate programs, heads of offices, heads of units, relevant support staff, and personnel from the Office of Academic Promotion and Registration. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and coordinate policies and guidelines for undergraduate student admissions in each program, ensuring alignment with university policy and meeting current student needs.

Meeting of the Faculty of Education Executive Committee, 1/2026.

On February 19, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, presided over the first meeting of the Faculty of Education s Executive Committee for the year 2026. The meeting was held in Room 68-606, Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, to discuss and consider important matters in the administration and operation of the Faculty of Education. The Executive Committee, including the Vice Deans, Assistant Deans, Program Chairs, Heads of Offices, and Heads of Units, were present. The meeting proceeded smoothly and reached conclusions on several issues beneficial to the development of the Faculty in various aspects, including teaching, research, and academic service. This aims to ensure the efficient operation of the Faculty of Education and the achievement of its set goals. A bouquet of flowers was also presented to congratulate Assistant Professor Dr. Narong Kanchana on receiving the Royal Award for Outstanding National Teacher of the Year 2024.

Study visit to observe the operations of humanities and social science journals.

On February 16, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, along with the Vice Dean and the committee studying the feasibility of establishing a Songkhla Rajabhat University Journal of Education, visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Songkhla Rajabhat University to observe its operations. They were warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Ratchapong Chatchawal, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Mujalin Pholklai, Editor, and Dr. Wisaruta Thongkaemkaew, Assistant Editor. They provided information and exchanged experiences regarding the journal s production process, from policy setting and editorial management to the submission system and approaches to improving the journal s quality to meet national standards.

On February 6, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, along with the faculty administrators and lecturers responsible for the Bachelor of Education in English program, welcomed a study visit delegation from the Language Institute, Burapha University, at the Pairoj Duangwiset Meeting Room (68-302), Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University. The study visit delegation from the Language Institute, Burapha University, consisted of Dr. Supharitthai Sumonwiriya, Director of the Language Institute; Ms. Suppannika Kamlanghan, Deputy Director; Ms. Rapeeporn Khunprayoonsawat, Assistant; Dr. Pannapaka Rungruang Haworth, Assistant; faculty members; and support staff. The purpose of this study visit was to exchange knowledge and study the academic management system, especially in the teaching of general education courses in foreign languages, specifically English, as well as approaches to developing the quality of teaching to be consistent with the context of higher education, which will lead to the development of academic cooperation between the two universities.

Local wisdom preservation project and chili paste making competition.

On February 5, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized a project to preserve local wisdom and a chili paste making competition at the activity area on the mezzanine floor of Building 68, Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University. Assistant Professor Ibrahim Yisuwansong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, presided over the opening ceremony. The project included a lecture on the topic “Craft & Cool: Having Fun with Indigo Fabric through Tie-Dyeing” by Assistant Professor Natchana Nualyong, a lecturer from the Faculty of Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, who shared knowledge on handicrafts and the contemporary application of local wisdom. In addition, there were various activities to learn about local wisdom, such as an exhibition of 9 types of Thai desserts, a “Craft & Cool” indigo tie-dyeing activity, and pottery art activities, providing students with opportunities to learn through hands-on experience. Another important activity was the chili paste making competition, judged by a panel of distinguished experts, including Assistant Professor Wipawan... Workshop on "Writing Self-Assessment Reports Based on Educational Performance Excellence (EdPEx) Criteria" for Office/Institute, Faculty, and University Levels.

From February 4-6, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the administrators and support staff of the Faculty of Education participated in a workshop on “Writing Self-Assessment Reports Based on Educational Performance Excellence (EdPEx) Criteria” at the institute, faculty, and university levels. The workshop was organized by the Office of Academic Affairs and Registration and held in the Wichai Rattanakiranawor Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Faculty of Science and Technology, Songkhla Rajabhat University. Distinguished speakers, Associate Professor Dr. Anan Mungwattana from Kasetsart University and Assistant Professor Dr. Ratchada Chayjit from Khon Kaen University, shared their knowledge and experience to enhance understanding in effectively preparing self-assessment reports according to EdPEx criteria.

Project for Developing Health Communicators and Creating Applied Media to Reduce Risk Factors

On January 23, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the project to develop health communicators and create applied media to reduce risk factors, supported by the Office of Supporting the Control of Major Risk Factors (Office 1), Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF), organized the project “Promoting Health and Preventing Risky Behaviors: Campaigning to Reduce E-cigarettes and Online Gambling Among Youth in Teaching Practice in Educational Institutions 4” ( รุ่นที่ 1 - Batch 1) at Room 68-307, Faculty of Education. 100 students from the Faculty of Education participated in the project. On this occasion, Assistant Dean Dr. Thapanawat Sukpala of the Faculty of Education gave a welcoming speech to the speakers and student participants. The speakers included Mr. Somchai Toeisorn, Clinical Psychologist from the National Network for a Smoke-Free Thai Society; Mr. Ramesh Sri Thapthim, Head of Media Department, Songkhla Rajabhat University; and Mr. Rawisut Kanitkulseth. The project manager of the Youth Club Network for Reducing Social Risk Factors, along with the New Gen Communicator (NGC) team, shared knowledge and experience, and helped enhance health communication and creative campaigning skills among students.

On January 18, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized the "Diamond of Education" Teaching Media and Exemplary Student Competition Project for the academic year 2025 at the Chalerm Phra Kiat Auditorium, Songkhla Rajabhat University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, presided over the opening ceremony. The event included a teaching media competition under the theme "The Wonder of Teaching Media," with student representatives from 9 disciplines presenting creative and diverse teaching media. The judging panel consisted of: Lecturer, Acting Lieutenant Dr. Kwandao Pinthongphan, Asst. Prof. Nisarat Boonmee, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Narong Kanchana.

Workshop on Developing Thai Language Teacher Competencies in the 21st Century

From January 17-18, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized a workshop on "Developing Thai Language Teacher Competencies in the 21st Century" at Room 68-303, Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University. The aim was to enhance knowledge and develop essential skills for the role of Thai language teachers in the 21st-century educational context. The project aimed to develop the skills and roles of Thai language teachers to align with societal and technological changes, support and promote faculty-level teaching and learning according to educational standards, and elevate the quality of graduates to meet the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education. It also aimed to equip students with essential skills for future careers. The target group was third and fourth-year students in the Bachelor of Education in Thai Language program. The workshop focused on experiential learning, developing teaching skills, and adapting the role of Thai language teachers to meet the needs of contemporary learners. The project was honored to have distinguished speakers, including Ms. Peeraya Rulpak, teacher at Municipal School 2 (On Uthit); Ms. Suphorn Piboonphol, teacher at Municipal School 4 (Ban Laem Sai); Professor Chonmapat Rulpak from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya; and Dr. Kamonthip Sangkuea from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. They shared valuable knowledge, concepts, and experiences that helped enhance the capabilities of Thai language teacher students, preparing them for quality teaching careers in the future.

Workshop on Competency-Based Science Teaching: The BCG Model and PISA Science Competencies

From January 17-18, 2026, the Faculty of Education conducted the project "Developing Educational Quality and Local Development with Higher Education Institutions as Mentors," under Activity 3: a workshop on Competency-Based Science Teaching: BCG Model and PISA Science Competencies. The aim was to enhance the quality of science learning in schools in Songkhla Province. Specifically, the workshop aimed to develop the capabilities of model teachers in Songkhla, providing them with the knowledge, understanding, and skills to manage competency-based science learning that promotes innovation to solve problems in the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy) while systematically integrating PISA science competencies. It also aimed to raise awareness among school administrators about the importance of and their role in continuously promoting, monitoring, and implementing competency-based science learning in their schools. Furthermore, participants were developed to design science learning activities focusing on PISA science competencies and applying knowledge to solve problems related to the BCG economy, appropriately and in accordance with the local context. The project was honored to have Dr. Veerapan Charoennilikitkavin, Ms. Pafan Buranatham, and Ms. Sunanta Suwanna as facilitators, sharing their knowledge, concepts, and practical experiences. This plays a crucial role in strengthening the network of science teachers and supports the development of quality education and sustainable local development.

The program promotes student learning experiences and cultural exchange in Malaysia.

From December 26–30, 2025, the Faculty of Education organized a student outreach program focusing on international culture and experiences in Malaysia. The objective was to provide students with an understanding of foreign cultures, enhance their life skills in a global context, and improve their foreign language and communication skills. Fourteen selected students participated in the program, engaging in hands-on learning experiences in Malaysian culture, management, and life abroad through fieldwork and interaction with the local community and environment. This program was a significant opportunity to develop students potential, equipping them with academic, life, and communication skills at an international level—fundamental requirements for becoming high-quality teachers capable of adapting effectively to a multicultural society.

The "Paying Homage to Teachers of the Faculty of Education" project, in celebration of Teachers Day 2026.

On January 16, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized the project “Paying Homage to the Teachers of Education” in commemoration of Teachers Day 2026 at the 80th Anniversary Commemoration Auditorium, Songkhla Rajabhat University. The event aimed to express gratitude to teachers and to reinforce morality, ethics, and professional conduct among faculty, staff, and students. Associate Professor Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, gave the opening speech. Associate Professor Dr. Pairoj Duangwiset gave a speech to the attendees. A special lecture on the topic “Ethics in Professional Learning Community (E-PLC)” was given by Dr. Montri Denduang. Associate Professor Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich also read the Prime Minister s Teachers Day message. The recitation of a poem in remembrance of the teachers virtues by Assistant Professor Nidarin Chulawan created an atmosphere of appreciation and pride in the teaching profession.

Project to promote cooperation and exchange of knowledge in pedagogy at Can Tho University, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

From January 9-15, 2026, the Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University, organized a collaborative learning exchange program in education at Can Tho University, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sophon Chaiwatnakulvanich, Dean of the Faculty of Education, along with supervising faculty members: Dr. Ekaphon Pairoj (Assistant Dean), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongkol Buakaew, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narong Kanchana, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panatchakorn Phitthiyakul. Eighteen students from the Faculty of Education, who were selected to participate in the program, were warmly welcomed by the School of Education, Can Tho University, led by Assoc. Prof. Huynh Anh Huy, Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Minh, Prof. Lam Quoc Anh, and Dr. Le Van Nhuong, Vice Deans. The delegation engaged in an exchange of ideas and experiences regarding teacher education management.
